February 21, 2010 Day 21

The Agony of Defeat!

I think I am actually depressed a bit... It was pretty hard to see Canada lose to the U.S. in hockey. There were about 20 people in a small room at the Nita Lake lodge with a large screen TV and the restourant was full of people as well all cheering for Canada but there were quite a few Americans with us and I actually had to leave because they were rubbing it in so much I left early and went for an hour run from Whistler Creekside to Whistler Village and back with Heather Hynes, a DCO from Saskatoon.

Today was my first opportunity to work at a different venue, Biathalon. It is nice to be able to work with other people and I have included some pictures of the other DCO's and BCO's at Biathalon. I really like Biathlalon and it really goes to show how popular it is in Europe, particularly in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia etc. The crowd was filled with fans from all over the world.
Jayne Moston, a DCO from England snapped a picture of Miga and Squatchi, the official Mascots of the Olympics in the crowd at Biathalon.
I also have a picture fo Heather and Carolyn having lunch in the workforce tent. They look like they are hungry... Carolyn is a DCO from Ottawa and works for the CCES...
Some pretty famous people were in the athetes village today. The King and Queen of Sweden and Jean Sauve, our Governor General of Canada and some other DCO's got pictures of the Gold Medal won by Jon Montgomery in the village.

Lastly, I have a picture of a German athletes coat. They did very well today in the Biathalon. The last picture is of the flowers the athletes get when they win a medal and one of the Biathalon .22 rifle. They are pretty cool.
